About ICMST
The 5th Biannual International Conference on Maintenance Science and Technology (ICMST 2020) will be held from September 22nd (Tue.) to 26th (Sat.) 2020 at the Nanyang Hotel of Xian Jiaotong University (Xinqing Campus) in Xi’an, China. The last four ICMST conferences were successfully held at the University of Tokyo, Japan (2012, Tokyo), Kobe University, Japan (2014, Kobe), Tsinghua University, China (2016, Shenzhen) and Tohoku University, Japan (2018, Sendai) respectively. The conference will be an international forum for presentations and discussions on important issues related to maintenance and for the exchange of latest progress on advanced maintenance technologies for nuclear power plants (NPPs) and other major engineering structures. Maintenance Science and Technology is an interdisciplinary engineering area that provides a basis for scientifically rational maintenances of large industrial plants and structures. The discipline optimizes maintenance activities from the viewpoints of safety and economics. After the Fukushima's NPP accident, the credibility of nuclear safety has been an important issue worldwide. This conference will provide an opportunity to make the contribution of maintenance activities applicable for the safety operation management of nuclear power plants and other modern industrial plants/structures through thoughtful presentations and discussions. The sessions of plenary lectures, panel discussion, oral presentations and posters will be organized in the conference events.
ICMST2020 is organized by the State Key Laboratory for Strength and Vibration of Mechanical Structures and School of Nuclear Science and Technology of Xi’an Jiaotong University in cooperation with the Tsinghua University and others, under the support of Japan Society of Maintenology, Xi’an Jiaotong University, National Natural Science Foundation of China and Chinese Society for Nondestructive Testing etc.
Prospective authors are invited to submit papers presenting original research work in areas including but not limited to:
• Safety and Reliability
• Inspection and Repair/Replacement Technology in Nuclear Power Plants
• Decommissioning for Nuclear Power Plants
• Safety Enhancement Program in the Post-Fukushima Period
• Material Degradation and Mitigation for Aged Nuclear Plants
• Advanced Maintenance Technology in Sustainable Society
• Education and Training for Maintenance
• Maintenance Related Issues
The 2-page short papers will be peer reviewed, and the accepted contributions will be included in the conference proceedings. Authors of accepted short papers will be solicited to submit the 6-page full version that would be selected for publication in a special issue of the e-Journal of Advanced Maintenance (EJAM Academic Article Section) after peer-review process.
